Essential MinistriesAt St. Paul's, we have identified several "Essential" ministries, that is, areas of focus that attend to the overall mission of the church. The various interest groups as well as a guiding member of the Leadership Team oversee these ministries. They are:
Mission and Outreach: Loving our neighbours and sharing the Gospel outside our church Children's and Youth Ministry: Providing opportunities for the Christian Education and fellowship of the children and youth in our congregation Property: Looks after the physical needs of the church building so that we can better live out our mission and be hospitable to all who come into our space Worship: The pastor guides interest groups under this ministry, which plan and lead worship often incorporating the arts House Groups and Hospitality: Ensures the House Groups have what they need to assist in worship in each week and looks at how we are welcoming new people into the church Stewardship: Teaches the congregation about the spiritual discipline of stewardship, that is, using our resources for the glorification of God and God's purposes, and encourages them to give of their time and financial resources faithfully to the church Pastoral Care: With the leadership of our Pastoral Care Worker, Kaye, we seek to be a congregation that brings the love of Christ to those who grieve, those who rejoice, those who are sick and those who are alone To learn more about some of these ministries, click on their title above. |
Interest GroupsInterest Groups carry out the essential ministries of the church though specific activities or areas of focus. They can be any size, and may be long-standing or may form briefly for one particular project (for example, serving food at the fair booth or painting the play room). Current Active Interest Groups are:
Worship and the Arts: Including the choir, which meets Thursdays evenings at 7:00 pm. Sunday School and Children's Ministry Communications Interest Group: Focusing on how we communicate within and without the church using technology and social media |
